It’s been almost three months since Boilermaker Super Fan Tyler Trent lost his battle to osteosarcoma, but he’s never far from our thoughts. And now, he won’t be far from our sight.
In an event scheduled for tomorrow, Purdue President Mitch Daniels is expected to announce a permanent campus memorial to Tyler near Ross-Ade Stadium. He is also expected to announce the inaugural recipient of the Tyler Trent Courage and Resilience Award, a scholarship established in memory of Tyler.”
Tyler Trent left an indelible mark on Purdue, on Lafayette, on Indiana, and on the country. He reminded us to do our part every day to help others; to do our small part to make the world a better place. He showed us what it means to be thankful for each day we’re given. And he demonstrated that greatness is achieved simply by choosing to live our best life each and every day.
And now we’ll have a constant reminder of those lessons outside Ross-Ade.
