PAUL POTEET JOINS THE QFAM

Long-time Lafayette Favorite Returns to Mornings on Q1067

LAFAYETTE – Lafayette broadcasting veteran Paul Poteet is returning to the Greater Lafayette airwaves starting Monday, February 17. Poteet will host a new morning show weekdays on Q1067 (WLQQ-FM).

“It’s exciting for me to be back in Lafayette again,” said Poteet. “I was a part of the original launch of our frequency in the early 90s. Back then we used the phrase ‘community radio,’ and I’m pleased that the focus of the station has returned to local connections. Lafayette also brings back happy memories of working with Mike Piggott and Larry Clisby and the rest of the WLFI 18 crew. I’m looking forward to getting the QFam started every work day with today’s hits, yesterday’s favorites, local information, the weather (of course!) and plenty of fun. Meet you at Harry’s after the show! Or maybe Triple XXX!”

The addition of Poteet in the mornings bookends the Q1067 broadcast day that has been anchored in the afternoons since Gina Quattrocchi launched her afternoon show on the station in October 2018. Poteet will host weekdays from 6am to 10am. Quattrocchi will continue to host weekday afternoons from 2pm to 6pm.

“We’re thrilled to bring Paul Poteet back to Lafayette,” said Q1067 Managing Partner Jim Stone. “As a veteran of Lafayette’s broadcasting community, Paul is a fantastic addition to the Q1067 family. As Lafayette’s Hometown Station, Q1067 is dedicated to using our voice to build our great community. Having been in Lafayette previously, Paul brings a great local perspective that will enhance our community-building efforts.”

Broadcasting from its storefront, showcase studio on Main Street in downtown Lafayette, WLQQ-FM signed on to the air as Q1067 on February 6, 2018. Using the power of the airwaves, the station’s core mission (in addition to playing great music) is to partner with local businesses, community organizations and area charity events to raise their overall effectiveness, visibility and public awareness.
