Q is special to me for selfish reasons.  I got to be a part of 106.7’s success the first time around in the 1990s. Even though I’d left the station since, I was always sad that it was no longer locally operated. I was happy to hear of Woof Boom’s purchase, and honored to eventually end up on 106.7 all over again. I love the attention to local content. To survive against so many media options these days, you can’t just play music that is streamed everywhere. Our station has personalities with equity and history in the market. They reflect what’s happening in the market, and have a good time doing it. 

Great local businesses, help to build great communities, and Q106-7 helps to build those businesses. We truly mean it when we say, “We use our voice to build our community”. I am truly proud of the impact that the radio station has had!

To me, Q106-7 means community. It’s not a station that just pumps out the music. We actually care about the community’s ongoing efforts to make this a special place to live and work. We get involved in community events, not for self-aggrandizement, but because we’re invested in what goes on in Lafayette. On a personal note, I received awesome support from Jim Stone and everyone at Woof Boom during my lengthy hospital stay. What kind of workplace holds your job open for a year?
