Derrick Jones has been telling stories for over 20 years – whether through theatrical productions, large- and small-scale events, or as a non-profit communications director. When his big brother Jim started Q1067, the Springfield, Illinois native (there’s a great story behind why Jim & Derrick call two different places home – you should ask them about it sometime) jumped at the chance to help launch and build the station’s social media pages. He continues to serve as the station’s social media guy and editor of its popular daily feature, The Daily Q. He’s also responsible for keeping the station’s unofficial official mascot, QCat, full of tuna and catnip-flavored greenies.
